I love this list so much!! I want to make a similar one for myself. We have a lot of overlap on music we listened to growing up (Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus)

I came here because someone restacked this with a quote of your thoughts on HAIM? I adore them for everything you mentioned, as well as the way they rejuvenated the way music can make you feel like laying on fresh grass the first few days of summer. I’m looking forward to enjoying the rest of your list, including the gems I haven’t heard. Great stuff!

YES! So glad to find fellow HAIM fans :,) Their songs are meant for sunny days and warm weather and I'm so glad it's almost their season again!! Thanks so much for tuning in - I hope you can find some new tunes!

my favorite album of theirs is self-titled but i really think 22 a million has influenced me so much - which is very unexpected! looove the tattoo idea!

Reading this post was a weird experience because I share so many of these, and that's surprising because some of them are things I thought only I listened to (in Italy, where I used to live, no one knew who Marié Digby was at the time of the album's release, but I LOVED Unfold, and it's still a favourite of mine). And I also share the whole being made fun of thing, as listening to Demi Lovato in high school was decidedly uncool when everyone around me loved Guns N' Roses or some other rock band from the previous century.

There's also something to be said about the subtle gatekeeping of music that happens when you're being shunned for listening to something that's not considered cool enough; there's so much good music that I *could* have grown up with, if only people stopped making fun of me for loving the Hannah Montana soundtracks and instead actually took care to talk to me about their favourite genres and songs; but because their sense of self hinged on belittling me for not liking the things that they like, that simply never happened. I just kept listening to Hannah Montana, and resenting whatever they were listening to, even if there was no other reason why I shouldn't love it just as well. But this is a topic for another time!

Two questions:

1) Do you like the latest Jonas Brothers album? I feel like Jon Bellion's influence really makes it shine, and it's their strongest project to date in my opinion.

2) Would you mind if I kindly stole this idea and made my own list? I'd credit you, of course. I don't know if I can reach 100 albums... but I would like to try.

AH that's so awesome!!! Unfold is truly such a beautiful piece of work and it absolutely love that we get to bond over stuff like this! I loved finding albums like that because nobody else knew about them so I felt like I had found my own little world - but it's amazing that even in Italy, people had the same experience as me!!!

I think it's hard because for as much as people judged me for my taste, a lot of my life has been spending judging others, so most of these albums ended up on here because I originally had a negative perception of them. Like 100 gecs is a prime example of that - but the more I listened to them and the more I learned about how innovative they are (and how the frontrunner is trans!!!) the more excited I got about listening to them! I think a lot of people don't take the time to overcome their preconceived notions of things and it's such a shame for everyone involved.

(But also, Hannah Montana slaps so you came out on top!)

I have listened to bits and pieces of the new JB - I am still obsessed with Waffle House - but I haven't done a deep listen yet. I love Jon Bellion and his influence on Waffle House was great so I'll have to bump it up on my list!

And please PLEASE make your own post!!! I would love to see what makes your list! I did 100 albums because I listen to too much music but even a more manageable number like 10 or 15 is great!

Thanks so much!!!
